The chairlift leads up to 2,222 metres. Arrived at Laufböden, the winter hikers enjoy a mountain panorama of a special kind: the view reaches from the striking Churfirsten at Walensee over the Rhine Valley to Lake Constance; Grisons and Glarus Alps.
The circular rout leads between Laufböden and Pizol hut to the plateau, which is forming a natural platform. Behind the Glarus thrust is located, which has been included into the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Here it is clearly visible, how the rock strata have been ridging and folding during the formation of the Alps. A chairlift leads back to Pardiel.
The way leads without significant inclines through the barren landscape far beyond the timber line. Past frozen mountain lakes the Pizol hut is reached, which is offering to linger for a while on the sun terrace, before the way back is started.

Von der Talstation der Pizolbahnen in Bad Ragaz geht es mit der Gondelbahn und der Sesselbahn rauf bis nach Laufböden auf 2'222 m ü. M. Dort starten wir die gemütliche Wanderung direkt an der Bergstation. Auf dem unteren Teil des Rundwanderwegs geht es Richtung Pizolhütte. Fast dort angekommen, taucht auf der rechten Seite der Wangsersee auf. Wir gehen am See vorbei und erreichen nach ca. 10 Minuten die Hütte, welche mit einem vielfältigen Angebot zum Verweilen einlädt. Zurück geht es wieder vorbei am Wangsersee und auf einem leichten Anstieg zum Aussichtspunkt Tagweidlichopf auf 2'275 m ü. M. Hier entfaltet sich die ganze Schönheit der Rundumsicht. Durch die Fotostele der Grand Tour of Switzerland sieht man von hier sogar den Pizolgipfel. Die Station Laufböden stets im Blick, geht es hinter dem Aussichtspunkt über eine romantische Hochebene mit Blick auf die Bündner Berge zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
