The St. Margrethenberg above Pfäfers is a popular destination all year round. While the Pizalun viewing platform is the highlight in summer, the Golerberg with its magnificent view is the perfect winter destination. The almost 3-kilometre-long, prepared winter hiking trail climbs gently and steadily. In the first few metres, you can usually watch the cross-country skiers making their rounds on the Fürggli trail.
If you occasionally turn your gaze to the right, you can see the Pizalun viewpoint from other angles. Behind the Pizalun, the well-known mountains Falknis and Vilan rise up. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Grisons mountains, the Rhine valley, the Churfirsten peaks and the Pizol region. In addition to this view, a culinary reward awaits you in the Skihüttli Golerberg, either on the sunny terrace or in the cosy Hüttli.
Exhilarated by the good feeling, you then return to Fürggli along the same path.
Author’s recommendation
