You can get to the starting point of the route, the Segneshütte, by shuttle bus or by bike. If you don't want to take the train or bike, you can of course start jogging from Flims. For this, the waterway (Trutg dil Flem) is recommended first thing in the morning before all the hikers are on the move there.
The circuit leads on mostly stony paths to the edge of the upper Segenesboden and further towards Tschingelhörner with the Martinsloch. And if you are willing to extend the loop a little bit, you can visit the Segens Mountain Lodge at Segenespass. The route leads back via the lower Segensboden to the starting point.
While there may already be snow at higher altitudes, the paths in the valley are still snow-free. Our interactive snow depth map will help you plan your tour. Here you can see at a glance at www.flims.com/schneesituation where you can expect snow on the paths and trails and where you can still go without getting cold feet.
Author’s recommendation
This round can be extended with about one additional km to the Segnespass. As a reward, you can take a break at the Mountainlodge! Definitely worth a visit.
From the Segneshütte in a northerly direction on the lower Segnesboden, quite soon you reach a fork in the path, from where the circuit now goes up to the right towards the upper Segnesboden. At the fork in the path at pt. 2322m.a.s.l continue to the right, still slightly ascending. Follow this path until pt. 2461m.a.s.l (which is the highest point, if you don't walk to Segenespass), turn right again to the next trail junction. Here, turn left down to the lower Segnes floor and across, in air direction, its left side back to the starting point of the Segenshütte.
