Start at rocksresort in LAAX and head through the Flimserwald forest via "La Mutta" past the viewing platform "Il Spir" and down into the Rhine Gorge at Ransun. Along the Rhine, it goes upstream through the impressive gorge to the station Valendas-Sagogn. From there it goes steeply uphill again towards Laax.

An endurance - tour that offers a lot of variety and scenic. Single trails, forest road, shore path and very less asphalt. This tour has a long season because of the lower elevations and south exposures. The stopover possibilities at the train station restaurants Versam-Safien and Valendas-Sagogn can make the tour even more enjoyable. If you don't like it, you can simply change to public transport.

Snowline map

While there may already be snow at higher altitudes, the paths in the valley are still snow-free. Our interactive snow depth map will help you plan your tour. Here you can see at a glance at www.flims.com/schneesituation where you can expect snow on the paths and trails and where you can still go without getting cold feet.

Author’s recommendation

The trail along the Rhine Gorge in the Flimserwald offers one or the other sensational view into the gorge. A stop at the restaurants at Versam-Safien and/or Valendas-Sagogn stations can make the tour even more enjoyable.

Safety information

Some surefootedness is advantageous on the single trail in the area of "La Mutta" and from "Ransun" down into the gorge.

Only a few drinking water points on the route! Filling up your bottle with water or stopping for a break is recommended, especially on hot days, at the latest at Valendas-Sagogn station.

A fountain in Ransun (fireplace before it goes via single trail down into the gorge). Water filling possible at both stations (toilets).
