Beautiful walk round Seewis especially in May and June when the unique narcissus of Seewis are blooming. You can follow the signposts which lead you to the most beautiful spots.

From Mai to June a big number of the meadows (about 250 hectares) above Seewis are covereded with the white mountain narcissus. In Seewis they are also called 'Gapescha', 'Geissblüemli' or 'Muntblüemli'. This plant has its origin in the Mediterranean.
How it found to Seewis is as legendary as the latin naming. Please take care of this marvellous splendour and do not pick the narcissus nor step on them.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the terminus of the post-ofice van you walk in the direction of Fadära and follow the signposts. You can walk along the road and admire the meadows with the flowers or else take the route 'Islatal' along the forest. At the Inn 'Fadära' the two paths lead together. From there you walk on the road until you get to a farm where you turn left on the path uphill to 'Fadärastein'. It is a short ascent to this beautiful viewpoint into 'Rheintal' and to 'Chur'. From there you take the path upwards to 'Oberstein' where you branch off right down to the road to 'Fulli'. Now you follow the narcissus- signpost which takes you to 'Pilidetta' to 'Stettli and 'Ganschiersch', where you can admire the most beautiful fields or narcîssus. The path takes you to 'Matan' and up to 'Pligugg'. You just walk on the street and follow the signposts down to Seewis. Now you have definitely deserved a break to relax in one of the restaurants for some refreshment.
