Starting from the center of the village, you just follow the trail markers. You will climb to the beautiful mountain meadow below the Chrüz. The first trail section on a prepared and groomed winter hiking trail leads through the forest and a wild life preserve to Alp Valpun. Later on you leave the groomed winter hiking trail. The effort of the ascent will be rewarded by the gorgeous view of the towering Rätikon mountains which divide the Prättigau from the Montafon. Later on you will enjoy a beautiful vista as you overlook the Prättigau valley.
The route continues quite close to the groomed winter hiking trail which makes it convenient to switch to that trail if you run out of time or if the hike becomes too strenuous. The trail can also be walked in reverse direction, but most people select the direction as described above because it is somewhat less strenuous and you will be facing the sun.
Alternative finish: From Haderegg junction (instead of following the marked trail to the Postbus stop), you can also follow the cleared Hadereggstrasse to get to the ski lift car park or the village center.
The tour can be done well in the opposite direction, but most people choose the direction as described: more sun in the face!
The time information is a guide value in good conditions for experienced tourer. Time information for snowshoe tours can vary greatly depending on conditions, equipment and condition. Allow enough time and start the planned tour early!
This tour description and the marking in the area do not represent a tour recommendation. Each inspection decision is the sole responsibility of the individual tourer. It is strongly recommended not to walk in bad visibility conditions (fog, snow, etc.) or in case of heightened risk of avalanches.
Attention, spring conditions: From about March and generally on warm and / or very sunny days, tours must be terminated early.
A complete winter tour equipment incl. avalanche search device is recommended on the marked snowshoe trail and generally on all tours in the free alpine terrain.
