After freewheeling leisurely along the bike path through the Inn valley, near to S-chanf the route branches off into the Val Chaschauna, whose pass leads to Livigno. After a short ascent along a gravel path, the trail follows across the mountain slope, continually going slightly downhill, on a predominantly easy single trail back to Samedan and Pontresina. Quite apart from the enjoyment factor, this trail provides very good altitude training.
