From the stage town of Sta. Maria, the day's tour begins with hard work via Valchava (1552m), in the opposite direction of route no. 444 (National Park Bike Marathon), mostly on a gravel road through the forest to Tschierv (1660m). Here begins the ascent to the Ofenpass (pass road just under 5 km). At the top of the pass (2149m) a flow trail branches off to the left down to Alp Buffalora (2038m). The ascent to Fuorcla del Gallo (2080m) is steep and ends in a great trail up to the pass summit. This is followed by a single trail to Lago di Livigno. The following stretch to Passo di Fraéle (1952m) is almost flat. The route continues to Casine di Trela (2170m) on a flow trail over the Passo di Val Trela (2295m) to Ponte delle Capre (1810m) on hard gravel to Livigno (1805m), the stage finish.
