The route of this is rich in history. First of all we pass by the castle Frundsberg next to Ruschein. This castle was home to the minnesinger Henry II of Frauenberg in the 13th century. The next castle is Friberg near Siat - a tragic legend about the virgin of Friberg will stay in your head for a while. On the path of the Senda Sursilvana you reach the Lag da Pigniu, which is situated in a wonderful mountain cenery!
The castle Grünfels (there are just few remains of the circular wall, the tower and the great hall left) and the castle Jörgenberg, which was already settled in the Bronze Age, complete this mountain round. Along the Rhine you find the way back to Ilanz.
Note(s) You can read the legend on the homepage of the community Siat (siat.ch)!
