From Engadin by train early in the morning to Davos. In Davos Platz, the road leads to Dürrboden, where the actual ascent to the Scalettapass begins. The single trail that leads from here to the Scalettapass at 2606 m above sea level is tough and demands full concentration. But the muscle and mental work is worth it and we spend the well-deserved break up here enjoying the panorama as much as our provisions. The descent starts off rocky, but becomes increasingly flowing until we reach the gravel road in Val Susauna. On the gravel road it is pleasant to roll along the lovely valley to Susauna. Shortly afterwards, the trail branches off to the right into the forest to S-chanf and on to Zuoz railway station.

Author’s recommendation

The tour is particularly beautiful in autumn, when the larches in Val Susauna glow golden.
