Alpine mountain tour on a 3000m peak in the lonely Grialetsch area (T4).

The Scalettahorn is not the highest peak in the Grialetsch area, but it is one of the few that can be reached without glacier contact and climbing. Two thirds of the tour lead along a mountain trail, the last part leads pathlessly through a former glacier valley and along a short ridge to the summit. The view over the entire Engadin and the glaciated Grialetsch region is fantastic. The name Scalettahorn is derived from the Latin word "scala" for "ladder" or "stairs".
