Indulge in the fascinating glacial world between Il Chapütschin, Piz Roseg and Piz Bernina. But first we take the Corvatsch cable car up to the middle station and follow a good path to Fuorcla Surlej. Now follows the steep descent to the Roseg Gletscher Restaurant before the ascent begins on the other side of the river to the Chamanna Tschierva. The Chamanna Tschierva is the starting point for the tour over the well-known Bianco ridge to the Piz Bernina, the only 4000-metre peak in the Canton of Grisons and the Eastern Alps.
If you want a bit of adventure, follow the hiking trail from Fuorcla Surlej in the direction of the Coaz Hut and descend to Alp Margun at point 2569. A little way towards Lej Vadret, a trail branches off to the left. Following the white markings, you come to the Tyrolienne, which takes you to the other side of the river. From there up onto the hiking trail. Across the moraine of the Vadret da Tschierva you finally reach the Chamanna da Tschierva.

Author’s recommendation
Glacier trail: the circular trail takes you to lakes, giant's cauldrons and a glacier mouth in the impressive scenery of the Bernina mountains. Suitable for families with children who will enjoy this spectacular nature experience. Surefootedness required! Walking time: approx. 1 h
As there is often still a lot of snow at the beginning of June and most SAC huts are no longer staffed at the end of October, the best time to complete the Bernina Trek is from the end of June to the beginning of October.
