From the village of Pontresina, go towards the railway station where the summer hiking trail into Val Roseg begins behind the car park. After passing through a beautiful coniferous forest and flower-filled meadows, you reach the Restaurant Roseg Gletscher, which is famous for its rich dessert buffet. The valley opens up and offers views from Piz Tschierva over to Piz Morteratsch and along the Biancograt up to the majestic Piz Bernina. The view of Piz Roseg is no less impressive, and in the background, the glaciers of the Sella Group and the Piz Glüschaint shine white.

At the Restaurant Roseg Gletscher, the path climbs steeply above alpine meadows to Fuorcla Surlej. It is reccommended to take a break from time to time and enjoy the unique views. Certainly on Fuorcla Surlej you have to plan a stop so that you can enjoy the full panorama. And it's likely you will continue to dream about this view when you are back home again.

From Fuorcla Surlej, it is not far to the Corvatsch middle station Murtèl. From there it is a leisurely gondola ride to Surlej.

From Pontresina station you can also take the horse-drawn carriages to the Restaurant Roseg Gletscher.

The last gondola from the middle station Murtèl to Surlej leaves at 5.05pm (mid July - mid August at 5.25pm).
