1st stage: Zernez – Susch – Lavin – Guarda (up 516m, down 335m, duration 4.00 hrs). Starting from  Zernez the Via Engiadina trek leads through the valley along the river Inn. Under the rocks of „Muottas da Clüs“ the trail goes through a forest. After a little while the way opens up and the trail leads further to Susch and Lavin, where you switch the river two times. From Lavin the trail increases and goes up to the mountain village of Guarda.

Author’s recommendation

The paintings in the church of Lavin is a "must see" spot. In Lavin you also can enjoy a original Engadine nut cake in bakery Giacometti.
