The hike starts in Scuol, where there are true treasures of Engadine houses and picturesque village squares to discover right at the beginning. Keep your ears especially open on the way through the village, because it's bubbling - and not only at the Inn: top-class mineral water gurgles here and invites you to taste it. Continue over the large bridge to Gurlaina, where you have a fantastic view of the village, in the direction of Sent and on the other side, towards Vulpera. Now follow the path past the Gurlaina ice rink and through the forest to Vulpera. Here you will catch a glimpse of the remains of the burnt down Hotel Waldhaus. Cross Vulpera until you reach a fork, which lets you turn left towards Tarasp. From here you walk along a wider path, past flowering meadows and with views of the nearby village of Ftan. Shortly before the end of the tour, you reach a hilltop and directly enjoy the view of the imposing Tarasp Castle. Finally, you walk past the Tarasper lake and up to the village entrance of Tarasp Fontana.

Author’s recommendation

Make a short stop and visit the small museum Hotel Waldhaus with its many mementos of a historic time.
