The valley trail follows the Inn River through open terrain, sparse forest and Engadine hamlets. It offers a number of entry and exit points and additional loops for more challenging trails.

The starting point of the trail is in Scuol on the eastern edge of the village. The trail crosses the Inn River for the first time via several curves and a slight downhill slope. Passing the small farming village of Pradella, the trail leads to Sur En, the gateway to the Uina Gorge. At Sur En – «over the Inn» in German – the cross-country skiers also cross the river again. Alternating between open terrain and sparse forest, the trail always stays close to the water. A total of three additional loops, some with steep intermediate sections, offer variety on the way to Martina, even for those who know the route. Although the border village of Martina has only about 100 inhabitants, it has two churches worth seeing: San Plasch (1515) and San Niclà (12th century). In addition, in Strada, shortly before Martina, there is the printing museum «Stamparia Strada». The printing house was founded in 1680 and today, after a gentle renovation, presents itself as one of the best-preserved farmhouses of the era.

Author’s recommendation

For those who like it a little more challenging, the Lischana, Prà Spin and Ramosch loops offer a crisp change.
