The flat Ochsenalp panoramic Track is an optional additional loop to the Prätschalp Track. The approximately 6 kilometre long track (return journey) offers deep views of the Arosa Railway, which winds its way along the Plessur through the Schanfigg. At the furthest point you reach the Ochsenalp and can see as far as Chur, the Calanda and the Tödi. This track is only suitable for classic cross-country skiing.

Author’s recommendation

Enjoy the impressive panorama of the Schanfigg valley and catch sight of the legendary Arosa line of the Rhaetian Railway.

Public transport

Public-transport-friendly

The Rhaetian Railway runs from Chur to Arosa and back every hour. The local bus waits for you at Arosa station and takes you in the direction of Prätschli to the cross-country skiing stop. You reach the Ochsenalp Panoramic Track by taking the Prätschalp Track.

Getting there

From Chur, follow the signs to Arosa. At the entrance to the village, turn right at the petrol station and follow the road. After a few hundred metres you will see the cross-country ski trails on the right.

Parking

As there is only a limited number of parking spaces available at the cross-country skiing trails, it is recommended that you park your car in the Ochsenbühl parking garage. The parking garage is right next to a bus stop, from where the local bus will take you in the direction of Prätschli to the start of the trails.
