Swissraft is your specialist for outdoor activities, especially wild water and river adventures. The company offers rafting, canyoning, canoe tours, hydro speed, packages and courses as well as training on rafting, wild water safety and kayaking. Those activities are available in the vicinity of Chur, either on the Vorder Rhine or in the Viamala gorge.
From Ilanz you will pass through the unique landscape of the Rhine gorge up to Reichenau. You won't stay dry - the rapids are fun and exciting. This section of the river offers a perfectly varied combination of exciting, adrenaline-inducing rapids and breathtaking landscapes with vertical rockfaces, deep canyons and steep fellfields. A boat tour is the only way to experience the Rhine gorge in its full length.
Canyoning, an exhilarating "walk" through a canyon You will follow the creek, go down smooth rock slides, swim through crystal clear pools, dive into the water (that part is optional) and rappel through waterfalls. The offer near Chur: Canyoning in the Viamala gorge. The route runs deep into the gorge, flanked by rock faces some 300 metres high. An aquatic canyon, which means more swimming, less rappelling. Suitable for the cautious and less experienced.
Canoeing on the Vorder Rhine is a brilliant experience for everyone. On the upper part of the Vorder Rhine, from Ilanz to Versam, you can test your dexterity and courage on the water. Or if you prefer a slightly calmer ride, the section from Versam up to Reichenau is perfect for you. You will experience a unique adventure, always guided by our experienced staff.
If you would like to experience the power of the Rhine first-hand, we suggest hydrospeed. You will be lying face-down on a river board, accompanied by a guide, and look for the perfect route through the roaring rapids of the famous Rhine gorge. You will be well equipped with a wetsuit, helmet, life jacket and flippers. In between rapids you can get your breath while you're peacefully floating downriver and taking in the impressive landscape of Switzerland's own "Grand Canyon".
